What is hand engraving?

Highly delicate, fine work that takes many hours to complete

Meet Mitchell Lurth

Mitchell has been an engraver for more than a decade, and a stone setter for five years. He graduated from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas with an Engraving Arts Degree (BFA), and completed the GRS Grand Masters Program—a specialized study program for outstanding artists—under Alain Lovenberg, one of the most sought-after hand engravers in the world.

Mitchell’s hand engraving work has appeared everywhere from ornate rings and firearms to $35,000 Game of Thrones-branded guitars. He now works as a consultant to GRS, a producer of fine engraving tools, and teaches seminars and clinics around the world.

All done in-house!

I was blown away at how hard the staff at Philip's worked to ensure my fiance and I the best craftsmanship and pricing on our wedding bands. I had worked with them prior with my fiance's engagement ring and couldn't be happier. They do all of their custom work in house. From designing in CAD software to casting, molding, engraving, to everything else, they do it all in house and your rings never once leave the shop until they leave with you.
